Draft — this is a structural skeleton, not documentation. Most pages are empty stubs listing what they will cover. Nothing here is finished, and some of it describes parts of Baseout that are not built yet.

Reconnecting a broken connection

A Source or Destination that loses access stops backups for every Space that uses it. Baseout says so in three places at once: the connection’s own status, a banner in the affected Space, and a row in the Inbox. Fixing the connection clears all three.

This page will cover the states a connection can be in, what causes each one, and what happens to the runs that were missed while it was broken.

  • What is the difference between “Reconnect required” and “Disconnected”?
  • Why did my connection expire?
  • Do I lose backups taken before it broke? (No.)
  • Are missed scheduled runs made up after I reconnect?
  • I reconnected but the banner is still there — why?

Only the summary above. The connection states are settled and listed in the status reference; the causes are not documented anywhere.
